Comparative genomics is the analysis of genomes across different species. Goals of the comparative genomics is an understanding of the genome evolution processes, gene finding and discovery of the new functional elements of the genome. It allows to find important conservative regions in the genomes, and reveals the story of genome rearrangements during speciation.
